Adam Crowl, M.D.

A native of western Maryland, Dr. Crowl pursued undergraduate education in the Commonwealth at James Madison University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Dr. Crowl completed his medical education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine graduating with honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Pathology Honor Society.
His post-graduate training includes a General Surgical Internship and a four year Orthopaedic Surgery Residency which were completed at the University of Virginia. A Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where Dr. Crowl trained with some of the world’s leading authorities in both adult and pediatric spine surgery. He is published in peer reviewed orthopaedic surgery and general surgery journals. He has presented his research at the national American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons meeting as well as the Eastern Orthopaedic Society and Virginia Orthopaedic Society meetings.
At Advanced Orthopaedic Centers, he is a member of the Spine Disorder Center. Dr. Crowl treats congenital, degenerative and traumatic disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines. Dr. Crowl treats conditions such as spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, fractures of the spine, scoliosis (pediatric and adult) and herniated disks. He performs decompressive procedures, spinal fusion surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Crowl is actively involved with the North American Spine Society, the Cervical Spine Research Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Virginia Orthopaedic Society. He is also a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine.
