Keith A. Glowacki, M.D.
Hand Surgery Specialists
Dr. Glowacki is a renowned hand surgeon who has been with Advanced Orthopaedic Centers since 1997. In the majority of the cases, he utilizes arthroscopy and microsurgery in his procedures, which range from surgery of the elbow, arm, wrist and hand. He frequently treats carpal tunnel and other common conditions of the hand and wrist, and collateral ligament repairs of the elbow.
Dr. Glowacki comes from a family of doctors in which his two brothers also became physicians in the footsteps of their father. He learned to pay keen attention to detail and to take time to educate and listen to his patients. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received his undergraduate degree in bioengineering. He went on to attend medical school at Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
After medical school, he completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Brown University in Providence, Rhoad Island. He completed this 6-year research-intensive residency program that put him on the leading edge of orthopaedic surgery. Subsequently, he went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for a Fellowship in Hand Surgery. After this year-long stint Dr. Glowacki earned the Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Society for Surgery of the Hand award this qualification and currently there are only 5,000 surgeons that have earned it nationwide.
In addition to 13 years of clinical experience, Dr. Glowacki has done extensive research on ligament tears of the wrist, nerve injuries, carpal tunnel surgery, and the biomechanical effects from ligament repairs. Education, research, and experience combine to provide an experience where the patient understands the diagnosis and treatment, feels comfortable to ask questions and has confidence in the plan.
When you are a patient of Dr. Glowacki's you are also in the capable hands of his team, which includes: physician assistant, Christine Arnold, orthopaedic tech, Latoya Williams, and his secretary, Brenda Corbin. They strive to make your visit to the hand center pleasant and comfortable.
Dr. Glowacki enjoys being with his wife and their two children, wine, triathlons, skiing, gardening, and hunting and fishing.
